ElderDog provides free services to seniors who need help looking after their dogs so that they can maintain their relationships at home. They are looking for volunteers to join the team as Dog Care Support Assistants in the Nanaimo and Oceanside communities. Among the Assistant’s duties are completing an ElderDog Agreement with a new client, taking the client’s dog on an evaluation walk, completing an assessment of the dog. The time commitment varies. Volunteers should have some experience with dogs, be reliable, and have a computer, printer and cell phone or digital camera. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
