Literacy Central Island is looking for volunteers to help in the computer refurbishing workshop. Volunteers for this position will be working behind the scenes to help prepare donated computers and devices so that they can be reused by individuals and families who need them. Tasks would include cleaning and sorting donated equipment, updating the refurbishing database, possibly installing software and doing some basic electronics testing and repairs.  Some light lifting may be required. A volunteer for this position must be organized and comfortable using computers.  Experience with Windows systems or computer hardware is a bonus, but they would be happy to train the right person. Anyone with experience and an interest in working on electronics or repairing appliances would be welcome. Volunteer hours are flexible; ideally once or twice a week during daytime hours.  For more information, please contact Gerald via phone: 250-754-8988 or via email: gerald@lcvi.ca with “Tech Workshop Volunteer” in the subject line.
