ELDERDOG NANAIMO-OCEANSIDE

ElderDog provides free services to seniors who need help looking after their dogs so they can remain as a family. To volunteer as a Dog Walker, you should enjoy helping seniors with their dogs, have some experience with dogs, be reliable and have good interpersonal skills. A volunteer for this position needs to commit to a couple of hours or more each week to help a senior with activities like dog walks.  The senior may also need assistance getting a dog to and from veterinary or grooming appointments, to require help with other related dog-care needs, such as minor grooming or administering medication. Walks are generally 30 to 60 minutes in length. It’s up to you how many days you want to commit to. All volunteers must b e 18 years of age or older and provide a favourable Police Information Check.
