BGC CENTRAL VANCOUVER ISLAND

The Haunting of Beban House is BGC Central Vancouver Island’s annual Halloween fundraiser, taking place October 23 and 24 at historic Beban House in Nanaimo. For 2 nights, the house is transformed into an immersive haunted house with themed rooms, props, live actors and plenty of scares. There is also a family-friendly daytime event on October 24, offering a lighter version off the haunted house, along with activities for children and families.

The event is organized by BGC Central Vancouver Island, with proceeds supporting programs and services for local children and youth. Volunteers play a huge role in bringing the event to life, helping with everything from setup and decorating to acting, guest support, activities and cleanup.

Volunteers for this event should be comfortable being on their feet and being active for at least an hour at a time and interacting with the public in a busy event environment. Strong communication skills, reliability and the ability to stay calm, think quickly and problem solve when things come up. Volunteers should also be willing to get into the spirit of the event and help create a spooky, paranormal atmosphere for guests. No acting or haunted house experience is required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to participate. Training and supervision will be provided For more information, please contact Andrea via email: ahoward@bgccvi.com.
