Christmas Angels
Volunteer Nanaimo has started recruiting Angels for our Christmas Angel program, and we’re looking for caring people like you to assist us to help less fortunate families, seniors, and vulnerable youth enjoy a happy Christmas!
In 2024, we were able to positively affect over 600 households — over 1,700 individuals — of low-income families, seniors, and vulnerable youth.
Help us help them! It doesn’t take much to be an Angel!

How to be an Angel
If you’d like to help make someone’s holiday special, you can join our Christmas Angel program by:

Not able to adopt a family, senior, or individual? You can still help by donating items.
We use donations of these items to help with hampers for families, seniors or youth who are not “adopted”.
Donations can be dropped off at our office at E 3148 Barons Rd, Nanaimo, BC.
Below includes some of our most requested items:
- Shampoo, conditioner soap and other personal hygiene items
- Small gift cards ($10 or more) from grocery stores, Tim’s, Subway, and similar
- Tea towels/bath towels
- Sport socks
- Fuzzy blankets
- Earbuds/Headphones
- Adult or childrens colouring books/Art Supplies/ Markers
- Movie Passes
- Grocery Cards/Turkey Vouchers
- At Nanaimo Foodshare a $15 certificate will purchase a food box of fresh fruit and vegetables!
